CLEARING CRYSTALS

Remember to clear your crystals. There are a few ways to do this. You can use dry salt or salt water. If you use salt water, mix one tablespoon of sea salt in a glass or ceramic container...do not use plastic. Also, check to make sure that the specific type of crystal can be placed in salt. Not all crystals can be cleared this way. Stones can be cleared by placing them in sunlight or moonlight, in the rain or burying them in the Earth. Full sunlight can clear stones in about an hour but some colored gemstones may fade (pink, purple, light blue, Fluorite). You can also leave stones outdoors on full moon nights but stones clear less quickly this way. Hanging gemstones from the branches of a tree during a rain storm will gently clean them. Gems can be buried in the Earth (or a pot filled with soil) for a period of time. A full moon cycle is ideal.

ALEXANDRITE (A chrysoberyl.) Clear violet-green, lt. blue or orange-yellow iridescence. Color changes with angle. Opens heart, solar plexus, and especially crown centers/chakras. Excellent tissue regeneration; especially Central Nervous System.

AMAZONITE Receptive. Element: Earth. Solid lt. blue/turquoise. Gentle, friendly, calming, soothing; Opens throat, heart, and solar plexus centers for self-expression, artistic creativity, healing. Throat, thyroid, nerve and brain paths. Reduces self-damaging behavior, increases straight posture of self-respect, confidence, grace, self-assuredness with communication. It works to provide clarity and insight. This works both for the confidence required of the good gambler and for the self-confidence building that leads to every success. Amazonite creates a feeling of power. It's the original "you can get what you want if you want it bad enough stone". It also leads one away from the self-destructive behavior that sometimes surfaces when we experience disappointments. Clairvoyance, out of body travel, etc. Green is most powerful: Heals and brings joyous openness to the heart chakra. as it opens the brow and crown chakras. AQUAMARINE A beryl. Clear light blue, blue-green. Tranquilizing, uplifting, openness, innocence, light-heartedness, creativity, communication, self-awareness, confidence, purpose. ARAGONITE Translucent purple-pink-brown hexagonal, or white needle crystals. Deep, peaceful meditation; uplifts emotions. CHRYSOBERYL Translucent Gold or Green Cat's Eye (often confused with qtz. Tiger's Eye, but rarer). Usually clear, green or green/brown, nongreasy. For acquiring more prosperity. Confidence, self-pride, healing. Amplifies other gems.

CHRYSOCOLLA (Gem Silica) Receptive. Element: Water. Solid lt. blue/blue-green. Gentle, soothing, friendly. CHRYSOPRASE Receptive. Element: Earth. Bright translucent green chalcedony. Uplifts heart chakra. Greater flexibility, wisdom, generosity, self-confidence. Heals depression, excess self-focus, emotions/sexual imbalance. Placed on heart, neck, or on brown for meditation.

DESERT ROSE A gypsum. Lt. brown. Gently grounding; clarifies thinking and mental vision, perception. Quiets worry, brings out practicality. (Related to Selenite) The spirit of these Selenite clusters send the message to stop, take time for self, smell the roses, find beauty in the day, and to enjoy every precious moment. You are reminded of the Divine in everything and everyone. The spirit here assists you in that joyous feeling of being connected.

ULEXITE (TV Stone) White/translucent. Insight into self and others; seeing solutions to difficulties. Somewhat 3rd eye opening. Some find it helpful for amplifying dreams, imagination, imagery, fantasy states for creativity (not recommended if addictive or escapism tendency). May fall apart if soaked in water.

UNAKITE Spiritual: Personal power. Taking charge of one's life. Guardian of fate, protection, leadership. Power used with gentleness, charismatic, enhances visions and journeying, balances the emotional body, rebirthing, unlocks blockages and allows release. Healing: Used to discover the root causes of disease or malfunction, balances weight distribution to desired places.

VARISCITE Solid cool, pale green. Clear, colorless, natural form: Works with the crown chakra and transpersonal point (and pituitary and pineal) for Universal Truth, intuition, durability, steadiness, integrity and connection with "All That Is." Eases depression, insomnia. Also historical poison detoxifier. Man-made (cubic Zirconia or "CZ") is not nearly as strong/effective as natural. "Pink Ice" is pink CZ.
